Well looks like the sunshine might finally be here to stay, and help us warm up and get ready for summer time fun! We also know its been a very long time since we had an update to our blog, we always get so busy around the farm that sitting down at a computer tends to fall to the back burner at time. We will promise to try and keep this more up to date so you know what is going on as far as our farm and up coming fruits and U-Pick!
This spring was a long, cold one! This does set back our fruit trees and plants, so some of our U-Pick offerings may be slightly later than normal, however we will only be able to tell closer to picking season! So make sure you are always checking our Facebook page and website for current updates!

What A Year!
We would like to take a minute to Thank EVERYONE! This has been another great year here at Westview. We hope you all got to enjoy the great fall weekends and family fun areas here at the orchard. Now, it is onto Holiday time here at the orchard. We are gearing up our ovens for lots of Holiday Baking, so don't wait! Place your orders now, in person or 0ver the phone.
We are also shipping our apples all over the country! Give the gift of Fresh Michigan Apples! We are looking to have our online ordering up and running this coming week, so share with your friends the great idea of apple gift giving.

Out in the fields...
Oh what a rainy spring we have had!
Makes it very difficult to get into the fields to start planting our corn, pumpkins, and strawberries! However, we started yesterday working the ground for our strawberry plants that we are planting this spring. We have decided to put our new field behind the standard cherry orchard on the rolling hill. This makes things just slightly more difficult than planting on a flat field however, we are planting on a terrace style, to make sure irrigation and drainage works to keep those new plants healthy.
We are still out in the orchard pruning our peach trees. We had prune all the trees in the orchard, starting in January with the apples, and then cherries. Last but not least is our peach trees. If you have driven by you noticed a week ago we were in full bloom, and now the trees have dropped the blooms and are working to produce that fruit we all love!

Spring Has Finally Sprung!
Welcome Spring!
We are sure happy to see this great weather upon us here at the orchard, and warm weather means our fruit trees are producing nicely for this season. If you have driven by our orchard, you have seen our Cherries in bloom, but if you have not here is a picture for you to enjoy!

Also new this year, we are opening up the Schoolhouse Ice Cream and Sweet Shoppe. You can come and enjoy the nostalgia of an old fashioned ice cream parlor, and candy store. I can not think of anything else that sounds better than an ice cream cone on a hot summer day! We will be offering both Hard and Soft Serve Ice Cream, Sundaes, and some Signature Items you will only find here at Westview Orchard. Construction continues around the farm to get everything ready to serve you better than before!

Ice Cream Anyone?!
I know it is still chilly outside, but we are looking forward to staying cool all summer long! What is better than ice cream with friends, a baseball team, family? NOT MUCH! So Westview Orchards is proud to say we are adding ice cream to the Schoolhouse Sweet Shoppe this season. Michigan made ice cream and all the toppings will be opening in June with lots of fun flavors, but what is your favorite? Let us know what you would like to see in our ice cream freezers!
