Gearing Up for Spring!
Hope Everyone is enjoying the winter weather we have been dealt here in Michigan!
It has been a while since we have posted here to let you know what is going on, but we have had alot of things going on with the family and around the farm.
Abby was elected to the Washington Township Board as a trustee, she looks forward to working with the community and creating a better relationship between the residence and the board.
Grandma Kay passed away in December and we will all miss her dearly, we know she is in a better place watching over her orchards. We appreciate all the support the family received during this very difficult time.
The trees so far are braving all the cold rather well and hope to continue with that. We are looking for new ideas to add to Westview this season, so let us know what you want to see! Lots of ideas floating around our heads but we have to narrow it down to what our friends want to see. We just returned from a trip to the North American Farmers Direct Marketing Association Convention and Bus Tour, so we are bursting at the seams with new ideas! I will fill you in with pictures on our next post of the tour!

Welcome Everyone!!
Hello Everybody!!!
We have decided to start blogging to let everyone know what is going on here at the Orchard. This past winter has brought some exciting changes here at Westview with many more to come.
We are celebrating 195 years this year!
We build the big red barn at the top of the hill, is our new mechanical shop for all the repairs that go with the farm. This is the first shop that we can pull the tractors in all year round to work and fix all those repairs and improvements.
In order for us to continue farming for another 195 years, Abby has decided to throw her hat into the political arena to keep the farms in the area around. She and 5 other local concerned residents are taking action to keep the farms here in the Romeo/Washington Area, instead of strip malls, and big box stores. So if you are a Romeo/Washington Area be at the polls for the Primary August 5th. Abby is part of the Washington's Home Team made up of Dan O'Leary Running for supervisor, Kathy Bosheers running for Clerk, and Abby Jacobson, Lisa Rapp, Art Grimes, and Jim Richardson.
We are now in the middle of cherry season with lots of sweet and tart cherries in U-Pick as well as ready picked in the farm market. Come visit us 8-5 for U-Pick and 8-6 for Farm Market. We also have the 40' Apple Drop Slide, Petting Farm, Playground, and Wagon Ride, available 10-4 Daily for $3 a person. (Ages 3 and Under are Free!)
Hope to see you here!
